Generate a Find and Fix Request

iStrobe allows users to create fix requests to address performance problems identified by iStrobe. These files can be exported as flat files from iStrobe to a local machine and subsequently imported into the Topaz Workbench for evaluation.

From this imported fix request file, a Mylyn task or Xpediter/CICS launch configuration can be created. Mylyn is a task management application that is shipped with the Topaz Workbench.

Additionally, those iStrobe users with a Topaz license can more directly and automatically submit a fix request for evaluation. These records are submitted directly to the CES repository when a submit request is initiated.

To use this functionality, you must first create an Issue Tracking Configuration in Compuware Enterprise Services. Refer to Issue Tracking Settings in the Compuware Enterprise Services Online Help.

To create an issue request:

This procedure creates an issue request by adding the request to your issue tracking system.

  1. From any CICS performance report, click. The Submit Fix Request dialog box appears. If you are a licensed Topaz user, you will have an option for selecting your issue tracking system from a drop-down list.

  2. In the Issue tracking field, click the drop-down arrow to select the appropriate fix request action.

  3. In the Summary field, provide a very brief summary. Keep the summary short because it also serves as the file name for the fix request. Completing this field is required.

  4. In the Description field, provide a more thorough description of the problem. Completing this field is optional.

  5. In the Tags field, add any tags to better organize your fix requests for later retrieval. Completing this field is optional.

  6. Click the Details ribbon to observe additional details of the fix request.

  7. Click OK.

The fix request is generated and saved to your issue tracking system, along with a flat file (.fxr extension) saved as an attachment..
