Notes Editor

After you have selected and displayed a summary report, you can view information about a single fault or event. You can also add notes that will be attached to that fault or event.

Move the cursor over items in the report until it changes to a pointing hand. Click on the graphic to drill down until you get to the detailed report for that item. From the detail report screen, click on a link in the first column of the report to drill down to a report on the specific event.

To add a note to a specific event, click on a Notes link at the end of the line, which opens the Management Reports Notes Editor screen. This screen shows information about this event including: event ID, type of event, event date and time, job name, program that caused the event, fault code, machine ID, operating system, and operating system release. After you create your note, a note ID is assigned (starting with 1 for this event) and added to the Note ID field.

Add a New Note

  1. Click the Add New Note button.

  1. Type a note in the Note text area and click OK. You will return to the report location where you selected the Notes link.

  2. If you change your mind, about the note, you can click Cancel to delete your note.

  3. After you have added your notes, click OK.

Modify a Note

  1. Select a note in the Event Notes list.

  2. Modify the text in the Note text area.

You can select and right-click the text in the note text area to open a note menu. This allows you to cut, copy, paste, delete, and select all after making a change to the text of a note. When the text is selected, the options become available.

  1. Click OK.

Delete a Note

  1. Select a note in the Event Notes list.

  2. Click the delete icon (Delete icon) to remove the note from this event.
