DFHSIP

DFHSIP is the CICS system initialization program called by the operating system. The DFHSIP task is active during CICS/ESA initialization and termination. It has no active code while CICS/ESA is accepting logons and performing user tasks.

Hints

DFHSIP is the CICS program that appears on the Measurement Session Data report, if your installation uses the standard IBM-supplied name.

In later version of CICS, DFHSIP initializes CICS and contains code for a number of CICS domains. In CICS 4.1, code for the following domains are included in DFHSIP:

  • kernal (KE)

  • domain manager (DM)

  • dispatcher (DS)

  • dump (DU)

  • global catalog (GC)

  • local catalog (LC)

  • loader (LD)

  • lock manager (LM)

  • message (ME)

  • parameter manager (PA)

  • storage manager (SM)

  • trace (TR)

With these additional modules included in DFHSIP, the CPU time will increase considerably when upgrading to CICS 4.1.
