General Tab

The Strobe Advisor General report displays the top five reports for CPU and Wait.

  • The User Application CPU report identifies the percent of the execution samples that was either attributed to or found at a specific statement in an application program. If the source was indexed, then Strobe provides the source statement.

Click on the CPU ribbon to view the Program CPU Usage report.

  • The User Application Wait report identifies the percent of the wait that was attributed to a specific statement in an application program.

When viewing either the User Application CPU report or the User Application Wait report for those applications running in a CICS environment, click to export a fix request file that can be imported into the Topaz Workbench to address a performance problem identified by iStrobe.

Compiler Options

If your program is COBOL, iStrobe lists the compiler option settings that may impact performance. Items listed in the compile options ribbon will describe key options used at compile time with a link to its description. Click an underlined compiler option to see an expanded description and performance improvement hints.

You can create a note for this particular report and profile by simply clicking at the top of the page. The note created is exclusive to this report and can only be accessed from this report and profile. Other users can edit the note.

Topaz for Java Performance

  • Click the link to the associated Topaz for Java Performance measurement report.

  • From the toolbar, click to take you directly to the report. This icon is only present when there is a corresponding Topaz for Java Performance measurement.
