Abend-AID Diagnostic Summary

Abend-AID Fault Analytics can help improve application availability by reducing downtime caused by application failures. To accomplish this, Fault Analytics first detects mainframe application failures. Fault Analytics immediately notifies personnel and/or applications about the failures. It also provides historical reporting on past events, allowing the information to be analyzed for specific trends or problematic areas.

Fault Analytics Notification

Fault Analytics can notify personnel and applications immediately of an event. For example, e-mail can be used to let interested personnel know of a problem immediately.

Notifying a person through e-mail can be customized by creating rules. Using rules, you can define how an event is processed. For instance, a specific group may be responsible for supporting job ABC00001, so you can set up a rule to e-mail only that group when job ABC00001 fails. Another group may be interested in critical transactions XX01 and YY02 in Region XYZ00002, so you can set up another rule to notify only this second group when those transactions fail.

Access Abend-AID Diagnostic Summary

Fault Analytics is tightly integrated with other Abend-AID products. One of the integration capabilities between the products is the ability of Fault Analytics to display the diagnostic summary report for Abend-AID and Abend-AID for CICS. This allows interested personnel to quickly and easily access reports from the Fault Analytics Viewer.

You can access the Abend-AID diagnostic summary report from Fault Analytics in one of the following ways:
