DSNWVSR1

Module DSNWVSR1 is used as an Accounting Resource Management Timing Routine. It collects, tracks, or traces events for Accounting Trace classes. It can show varying amounts of CPU consumption when the Accounting Classes 2,3 are activated. The more events there are to track, the more resources this module will accrue. For example, each Synchronous I/O will cause a Wait event that must be tracked. In this case, improving the overall buffer pool hit ratio will reduce the number of I/Os and thus the number of events to be tracked. The same holds true for Lock/Latch suspensions. Usually the time shown for this module will not be significant.

Hints

The recommended collection of performance information is through Accounting Class 1 and Statistics Class 1, 3, and 4. This combination of traces incurs only 2% to 5% overhead.

Accounting class 2 and 3 turn on additional trace events but incur considerable CPU overhead. However, specifying plan constraints has no impact on Accounting Class 2 traces.
