Fault Analytics Collector
The Fault Analytics Collector runs on all LPARs from which you want to collect fault events. It can run with or without Compuware’s Abend-AID products. In addition to processing fault information captured by Abend-AID itself, the Collector captures events not related to an abend.
You choose what information you want to capture. These choices are made via the parameters in the SYSIN parameter data set described later in this document.
The Collector consists of the following:

One long-running address space

An optional z/OS subsystem routine which looks for JCL errors and operator commands

An optional SMF accounting exit routine that looks for jobs that end with completion codes of interest to you
The subsystem routine and the accounting routine are optional and need not be present if you do not want their data collected and reported.
