Create a Report

If the default reports do not meet your specific needs, they can be customized. In addition, new reports can also be added to the existing Fault Analytics reports.  BIRT, the reporting tool provided with Fault Analytics, can be used for the purpose of creating new report files.

BIRT report file names have the suffix (.rptdesign), with any new report files being save to the default folder: <path to FM web application>/reports/BIRT/Fault Analytics (you may use this existing directory structure or create your own subdirectory to add your new reports, however, they must exist within the <path to FM web application>/reports/BIRT folder).

When creating a report, first you need to design and create the report. Then you need to customize the report site map.

When creating reports within Abend-AID Fault Analytics:

  • The ODBC data source Fault Analytics must be used to access the data.

  • The first three parameters must be created in this order:

    1. Abend-AID Fault Analytics server name -- "Server"

    2. Report begin date -- "Begin Date"

    3. Report end date -- "End Date"
