Configuring E-Mail Notification

The Configure E-mail dialog box allows you to configure Abend-AID Fault Analytics to send e-mail messages to users in the following circumstances:

Fault Analytics uses a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server. This allows Fault Analytics to integrate with any help desk tool that accepts e-mail for trouble ticket generation.

Note iconNote: Fault Analytics does not install the SMTP e-mail server. Therefore, the SMTP e-mail server must be installed before you can configure the E-mail notification.

To Configure E-mail Notification

  1. In the Fault Viewer, select Administration.  The Administration panel appears.

  2. Click E-mail. The Configure E-mail panel appears with the E-Mail tab selected.

  1. Type the SMTP server name or IP address in the SMTP server name or IP address field. This specifies the SMTP server that processes the Fault Analytics e-mail request.

  2. If required by your site's standards, type the SMTP Logon ID in the Logon ID field, type the corresponding password in the Password field, and type the password again in the Validate field.

  3. If desired, change the ID to be displayed in the FROM e-mail field field. The default is FaultAnalytics.
