SVC 057

SVC 057 is a Type 3 SVC issued by the FREEDBUF macro. This macro does not get a lock and calls load module IGC0005G.

Any buffer obtained through the dynamic buffer option must be released before it can be used again. When you are processing a direct data set, if you do not update the block in the buffer and thus need to free the buffer instead of writing the block, you must use the FREEDBUF macro. FREEDBUF causes the system to return a buffer to the buffer pool assigned to the specific data control block.
