Event Thresholds

Thresholds can be applied to rules allowing for the refinement of event processing. A threshold is the number of times the condition must be satisfied within a given period of time before the actions are applied to the event.

Apply a Threshold

  1. See Create a New Rule and Event Rule for additional information.

  1. Check the Apply threshold check box.

  2. Enter or select the number of times the condition must be met before the actions are applied in the are met field.

  3. In the ...Select a period drop-down list, select the time period (days, hours, or minutes).

  4. Check the Apply timeout check box if you want to ignore future events once the conditions for the threshold are met. If you check this box, select a time period and type a number to correspond with the time period selected.

  5. Click Apply to save your changes.

Remove a Threshold or Timeout

To remove a threshold or timeout, clear the appropriate check box and click Apply.
